By the way, these wedding photography tips aren't in any special order.
Tip #1) Know Your Camera Equipment....If you are the main photographer at your friends or customers wedding, then you better make sure you know your camera equipment very well. Most weddings are a once in a lifetime event for most people, so you can't risk not knowing your camera well and doing something wrong and ruining a pile of photos.
Tip #2) Make Sure You Have Extra Fully Charged Batteries....You should always carry extra batteries with you when you are out taking wedding photographs. Nothing is worse than having a great photo opportunity and your camera or flash battery goes dead. It doesn't cost that much to have a backup, and it will save you a lot of trouble.
Tip #3) You Need Lot's Of Memory Card Space....You should always carry extra memory cards and batteries with you when you are out taking wedding photography. Nothing could be worse than running out of memory card space or having your camera or flash battery goes dead while you are doing a wedding job for a friend or customer. It doesn't cost that much to have a backup, and it will save you a lot of trouble.
Tip #4) You Need To Take Many Photos....When taking photos of a wedding, it is really important to take lot's of photos in order to get something great. It is usually a once in a lifetime event for the couple getting married, so more is always better. By taking more photos you will have more to choose from and you might capture something you wouldn't have if you took only a few photos.
Tip #5) You Need A Wedding Checklist....Wedding photography is usually very hectic and you don't have much time to think. It is very easy, especially for me, to forget something, and that something could be a very important photo.
Tip #6) Flash Or No Flash Or Fill-Flash....Wedding Photography Tip. Many people wonder, should I use a flash or not? I think for wedding photography, it is smart to always use some fill flash when photographing people so their eyes aren't dark shadows. You can adjust the flash so that you can hardly know it was used, but it helps to lighten up the shadows.
