About www.free-digital-photography-tips.com
Hello and thank you for coming to our website, we hope you like what you see. We are Bridget and Robert, and as of July 11th, 2009, little Kayleen, our great gift from God. We currently live in Switzerland. Bridget is Swiss and I(Robert) am American, and Kayleen is half Swiss and half American. I started this website because I love photography, and wanted to help people take better photos. I also wanted to show my photos/art and hopefully sell my work, and to learn how to make websites from scratch with HTML and CSS.
As of March 2010, I still haven't found a full-time job here in Switzerland. I work part-time with Bridgets brother Bruno who owns his own plumbing and heating business. We are very thankful that I can work with Bruno, because even though it is just part-time work, it helps pay the bills. Because Switzerland's main languages are German and Swiss German, working with Bruno can be amusing and frustrating at the same time. I can see when he starts to get annoyed at me, when he tells me to do something or get something and I don't understand him, so he says it a few times until I "get it" or he just does it himself. There have been times when I just would have rather not worked with him, if he said too many things that I didn't understand, but it has gotten better as I learn more and he learns how to speak to me.
One moment I can clearly remember while working with Bruno, was when we were working in a bathroom. He was saying "zu, zu, zu" and I didn't know what he wanted me to do, so he was getting mad, and saying it louder "zu, zu, zu". What he was trying to tell me was to shut off the water, but I didn't know, and then I turned the faucet the wrong way, "zu", "off", is always to the right on faucets in Switzerland, now I know. So that kind of situation I dread having while working with Bruno, but it has gotten better.
Bridget would rather not work so much and it is better for the mom to be home with the child, so I am still looking for fulltime work here. But because I'm in a different country with a different language, I am having a real hard time finding a fulltime job. We pray every day that I will find fulltime work here, or that I can sell my photos and other photo related stuff. I am also thinking about taking portraits to help earn some money, but that also would be affected by the language problem. For now I am a stay-at-home-dad for Kayleen, a part-time plumber, website owner, and photographer.
